50 Summers

SYNOPSIS

50 Summers

is a full-length documentary that tells the incredible story of the Omaha Storm Chasers, one of Minor League Baseball’s most beloved teams, as they prepare for Opening Day of their 50th Season.

The film explores how the Omaha club has managed to survive and eventually thrive, despite relocation threats, ownership changes, rebrands, and stadium issues—including the closing the iconic Rosenblatt Stadium. Through it all, the Storm Chasers maintained a record-setting 50-year affiliation with the Kansas City Royals.

50 Summers also goes deeper than just Omaha. The film provides an in-depth look at changing business of MiLB in America over the last half-century.

Interviews with George Brett, Warren Buffett, Alex Gordon, Jack McKeon, Branch B. Rickey, and dozens of MiLB executives paint a picture of where the league is today and how it got there, all as Omaha prepares for the two best words in the English language: Play Ball.
